HAVE YOU SEEN A LADY FAIRER?

My favorite song of the week. Rolling Stones, ever heard of em?

GOODNIGHT

Beautiful tune, titled Bella, by bro + sis duo Angus + Julia Stone. They hail from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. I first heard these two on a HOTEL COSTES compilation I bought in high school on Lincoln Road. I wonder if they still produce those? Anyway, the song is super chill and it's putting me to bed. Right now.

INSPIRATION (QUATRE ET CINQ)

AMAZING VIRGINS (I MEAN VERSIONS)

I love this track because I love Phoenix. I could write about em over and over. I went to Hot Chip last Friday and the whole time I kinda wished I was at Phoenix. That's half - true, because the show was sick. Minus the Terminal 5 part. Although they opened up a bbq on the rooftop. Cheeseburgers, Marlboro lights, and Kettle rocks - nothing like it. Anyway I'm totally switching subjects. This is off their unplugged collection. It's Liztomania. Also, please make sure you scroll down and get the new N.E.R.D. song!

GOOD ART. GHETTO BUDGET.

7 West 34th Street is hosting the AFFORDABLE ART FAIR from May 6 - 9 in NYC. Prices range from 10 bux to 10,000 big ones so bring some cash, a credit card, and a second set of eyes to advocate your impulsive purchase. Most of the work showcases budding young artists who will probably bargain whatever they're slinging. I'll be there, even though I have no room left in my loft for artwork. Visit affordable art for more details.

FEELIN N.E.R.D.Y.

It's about time - the new N.E.R.D. album slated to drop June 15th has finally released it's first single, "Hot N' Fun" featuring Nelly Furtado. Wherever you are this summer, this jam will be too. I approve - Baseline is redic.

BIRTHDAY SEX

J.J. - who I've velveteened (new verb) about prior, is back again, with an amazing cover. They often get off on twisting catchy, American hip-hop tracks into personalized, hypnotic lullabies that take on a life of their own. This is J.J. covering Jeremih's "Birthday Sex." Birthday Sex does in fact get better with age!

I mean look at them! Don't you love them?

HEY, DON'T TALK TO ME THAT WAY.

You know him from BORED TO DEATH slash I HEART HUCKABEES slash THE DARJEELING LIMITED slash SLACKERS slash RUSHMORE slash SPUN (to name a few.) Jason Schwartzman also fronts a solo indie rock band called Coconut Records. It's no shock that nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and son of producer Jack Schwartzman is basically a genius. My mom is a housewife and my dad exports drugs to South America. That explains a lot. Anyway, this is by far one of his best and also one of my most randoms because it's nothing new, but still something great. Oh and I see him at my gym everyday so he's in my brain.

THE SEA & CAKE

Midwest act The Sea & Cake hail from Chicago. They formed in the 1990's, I just discovered them. Very somber, very chill, getting to know their album "Everybody" is very easy. Have a listen. Reminiscent of the Shout Out Louds and the Black Lips I think?

I LOVE YOU LIKE MAD.

The Bird And The Bee have just released a tribute album to Hall + Oates. Pause for amazing. This is the only track on the disc that is an original, but stay tuned for the throwbacks. They're bomb.

THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES IN YOUR LIFE, SO PUT ON A SMILE AND IT'LL BE ALRIGHT.

Open your windows people it's fucking spring time! Download these two tracks, play at full volume (I know I always say that) partially because I'm def partially because it sounds better - that's what I think. Calvin Harris, my man. And Goldfrapp, a sort of female version of Calvin Harris I guess in retrospect. Remember, mucho mucho volume.

SUMMER BREEZE

This band is one of my favorites for 2010. Cannot wait to see and hear them live. They are the future. I really just said that. Have a listen, then agree. It's nice to have some breezy, mellow, beautiful tracks on your summer playlists. It doesn't get any better than Beach House. Sorry, am I including too much opinion? Tough.

Also for your listening pleasure, an ideal following act to the above: 'Candle Burned Out' by the Shout Out Louds. These two tracks should last you all summer. Erlend Oye meets Damien Rice meets Elliot Smith. Go Sweden!

NEW LOGO - WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I'M A LITTLE GARCON

Saw Born Ruffians open up for Vampire Weekend in the city - I can listen to this song 5 times in a row, no problem. It's starts off really chill and builds and builds. It's a good Sunday night song after realizing you spent 350 dollars on booze in 2 days, you have no clean underwear left, and there's work in the morning. I'm just saying...
